Brad + Howlin’ Cat Trio ——> Pre-Memorial Day Show

June 1, 2010

I don’t normally blog anything that isn’t wedding related but thought these would be a fun change. My younger brother Brad is a professional musician and plays with a few different bands as well as teaches. One of the new bands he has been playing with is the Howlin’ Cat Trio. Over Memorial Day weekend they played at Rally in the Alley in Medina, OH.

The trio is normally composed of:
Gene Klaus on Drums and Vocals
Bobby Ray Laverty Jr. on Lead and Vocals
Frank Andrasak on Bass and Vocals

Kevin Johnson played trumpet with them as well.

Show was great, everyone jammed.
I don’t normally post technical info but I will post a little this time.
Shot with a 5d and 1ds2 mostly 28mm and 135mm with a little 85 mixed in. The unlit stuff was all shot at 3200 iso. I choose a lot of bw because it fit and bw screams rockstar. I also will be posting some film shots (yes real film like the old days) that I shot with my new Eos3. Most of the film was Ilford 3200. Lights (or light!) was done by Jackie.

From this weekend on I am booked up every weekend until late August with weddings and engagement stuff etc. Super excited to be busy! I cannot wait to marry Jackie on the 4th of July and kick some butt at all our weddings this summer!
