We were so excited for Lauren and Billy’s wedding as they came with a referral from some of our good friends and a pair of awesome wedding photographers in the Washington DC area- Lionel and Kristiaan.

We started out the weekend with a practice run at Camp Hale then headed to lunch at Up The Creek in Vail. Lauren and Billy had one of the most creative slideshows we’ve ever seen- all the guests got view-master systems complete with a reel of slides! Talk about childhood nostalgia!

On the wedding day we started out the morning at Billy and Lauren’s beautiful Beaver Creek “cabin” where the boys were sequestered to the bottom two floors while the girls got their hair and makeup done upstairs. A first look was really important to Lauren and Billy, so once they were both dressed and ready we loaded Billy into the front of our car (blindfolded), and Lauren into the back and trekked an hour up ATV trails to the top of Ptarmigan Hill. Luckily, the views were stunning enough to make up for any carsickness Billy might have endured and the weather was absolutely perfect- making it one of the most beautiful first looks we’ve ever gotten to photograph!

From there we headed down to Lauren and Billy’s idillic ceremony in the middle of the lake at Camp Hale with a gorgeous view of the mountains in the background. The ceremony was made even better since it was performed by one of Billy’s best friends and groomsmen. After the ceremony we headed to the tent for one of the most competitive, nerve-wracking games of giant jenga we’ve ever seen, followed by definitely the biggest cake-smash in the history of our photography business (Maybe Billy was paying Lauren back for the hour long, blind-folded ride!)!

We had so much fun with Lauren and Billy, their joy and great attitudes are absolutely infectious!

Rehearsal
