We headed down to Colorado Springs for Amanda and Jordan’s engagement session. Originally we’d planned to go to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and do some exploring around the Grand Tetons at Jordan’s grandmother’s house, but but like many 2020 plans, Covid-19 said “not happening” to that. Luckily, Jordan and Amanda live just outside Garden of the Gods and take their pups hiking there regularly. If you’re going to have to relocate plans, it’s pretty awesome to have one of the most stunning parks in Colorado as a back up!

Jordan and Amanda love their dogs, local artists, and sports, and all three made it to the engagement session! We started the shoot on the trails around Balanced Rock by popping a bottle of hand-painted champagne to celebrate (and trick everyone at the park into thinking they were eloping so we could steal the best photo spots!). After we got some dressy shots, we headed over to the picnic area to let the dogs explore a bit. Prairie and six week old Dembe were thrilled to get out of the car, even if the puppy was more interested in snuggles than hikes! Since Amanda and Jordan’s wedding is almost exactly a year away it will be interesting to see how huge Dembe gets before his ring bearer duties next summer.

We’re looking forward to celebrating with Amanda and Jordan next summer in Summit County. Based on how much fun we had shooting with Jordan and Amanda, and Prairie and Dembe, during the engagement session, we know their wedding is going to be a blast!
