We were so excited to get to capture Jordan and Jay’s Hoosier Pass Breckenridge, Colorado elopement! Originally they planned on getting married in early April because they love the snow, but Corona had different plans.
Jordan and Jay are super fun and so laid back, so even though they didn’t get to celebrate in the snow with their families, changing their date didn’t phase them. Neither did the massive thunderstorms that rolled through all morning, but luckily the weather broke just as we were heading out to the first look.
The Blue Lakes at Quandary are a special place for Jay and Jordan, so we met up there for the first look. In true Colorado mountain fashion, the minute it stopped raining the wind picked up. It can get quite breezy at the Blue Lakes, and our photo session turned into a veil recovery mission! After everyone was sufficiently wind tousled we went back over the pass to the Montgomery Reservoir in Alma. We hiked out to the waterfalls, which were exceptional between the heavy rain and the early snow melt this year.
We met up with Phil Gallagher, wedding officiant extraordinaire, at the top of Hoosier Pass for Jordan and Jay’s ceremony. Jordan’s parents and Jay’s friend made the trek out to the top of the pass with us to participate in the ceremony.
Jordan and Jay exchanged vows with three 14ers in the background, it was the perfect spot for these two adventurers!
We love the intimacy and authenticity small weddings and elopements provide for our couples, and we were thrilled to get to capture Jay and Jordan’s special day so they can share the event with all their family and friends who couldn’t make it.
